Sniploom is a text expander and snippet manager that replaces short keyboard shortcuts with reusable text, email templates, responses, and frequently typed content. Sniploom is a local-first text expander that lets you save frequently used text and insert it while you type. It is useful for email replies, signatures, addresses, support responses, prompts, code, and other content you would rather not type repeatedly. HOW IT WORKS Create a shortcut such as ;email, type it in a supported text field, then press Space, Enter, or Tab to replace it with your saved content. KEY FEATURES • Create, edit, search, pin, favorite, and organize saved content • Choose which keys trigger expansion • Assign multiple aliases to the same saved item • Organize your library with custom categories and colors • Add bold formatting and links where rich text is supported • Press Alt+Q to find and insert saved content with Quick Search • Save selected webpage text from the right-click menu • Import and export JSON backups • Review duplicate conflicts before completing an import • Show optional suggestions while typing • Undo a recent expansion when the optional Undo feature is enabled • Avoid expansion in recognized password, OTP, PIN, security-code, and payment fields FLEXIBLE TEMPLATES Add fill-in variables when part of a message changes each time: Hello {name}, Thank you for contacting {company}. We will reply to {email} shortly. When you use the shortcut, Sniploom opens a form where you can enter each value and preview the finished message before inserting it. Variables can include default values and validation for common input types. You can also add default values and validation: • {name:default="Customer"} • {email:type="email"} • {age:type="number"} • {website:type="url"} • {email:default="hello@example.com",type="email"} AUTOMATIC VARIABLES Use automatic variables to make templates more useful: • {date} inserts the current or a future date • {time} inserts the current or a future time • {clipboard} inserts clipboard text when requested • {cursor} controls the final cursor position Date and time variables support custom offsets and formatting options. QUICK, ORGANIZED ACCESS Quick Search can find items by title, shortcut, alias, or category without opening the extension popup. The Sniploom Manager provides grid and list views, sorting, category filters, favorites, pinned items, category management, and backup tools. WORKS IN WEB EDITORS Sniploom works with standard input fields, text areas, and many content-editable message boxes across the web. Rich formatting is inserted where supported; editors that do not reliably support it receive plain text instead. Browser-protected pages, including chrome:// pages and the Chrome Web Store, do not allow extensions to access their text fields. SENSITIVE FIELD PROTECTION Sniploom avoids expansion in recognized password, one-time password, OTP, PIN, security-code, payment, and other authentication fields. LOCAL-FIRST PRIVACY • Snippets, categories, and preferences are stored locally with Chrome extension storage • Saved content is not uploaded to developer-controlled servers • Typed text is not collected for analytics or advertising • Clipboard text is read only when you insert content containing {clipboard} • Selected webpage text is handled only when you choose “Save to Sniploom” • No account is required • No analytics, advertising trackers, or remote code are included • User data is not sold When you insert saved content into a website, that website receives it just as it would receive text you type or paste yourself.
