True Dark

)Overview
Whole-page dark mode that actually darkens the whole page: iframes, dialogs, popovers, shadow DOM. Images stay normal.
True Dark turns light websites dark, all of them, all the way. Most dark mode extensions recolour the parts of a page they can see and leave the rest glaring: embedded frames, cookie banners, modal dialogs, popovers, web components. True Dark works differently. It applies one hardware-accelerated filter to the page itself, so every pixel the site renders goes dark, then restores photos and video to their real colours. What you get - Dark everywhere: iframes, modal dialogs, popovers, fullscreen players, shadow DOM, canvases, CSS-in-JS. Nothing is left half-light. - Images and video keep their real colours. - Sites that are already dark are detected and left alone. No more "dark mode" turning a dark site white. - A light iframe inside a dark page gets darkened on its own. A dark video embed inside a light page stays dark. - Brightness, contrast, warmth and grayscale sliders, applied live. - Per-site control: Auto, Invert, or Off. One keyboard shortcut (Alt+Shift+D) cycles the current site. - Honest status: the popup tells you what actually happened on the page. - Fast. No per-element scripting, no polling, nothing sent anywhere. Privacy True Dark does not collect, store or transmit any browsing data. Your settings are kept in Chrome's own extension storage, synced with your Chrome profile if you have sync on. There are no accounts, no analytics and no network requests. Open source and free.
