FocusRead – Fixation Reading

Read faster and stay on track: bold the start of every word on any web page, in place. Fast, private, works offline.

FocusRead emphasizes the first letters of every word, right on the page you're reading. The bold start gives your eyes an anchor, so many readers lose their place less often and get through long text faster. Why FocusRead • Works in place: the page keeps its layout, links and images. No separate reader view, no reload. • Instant: press Alt+B or click the icon. Visible text changes in a fraction of a second, even on very long pages. • Always on for the sites you choose, or for every site. • Adjustable emphasis, plus an optional fade for the rest of each word, with a live preview. • Follows dynamic pages (feeds, infinite scroll, single-page apps). • Leaves code blocks, text boxes and editors alone, and works with dark mode and dark-theme extensions. • Paste reader: paste text from Google Docs, PDFs or email, read it with fixation points, and print a copy. • Supports Latin, Cyrillic and Greek scripts. Private: FocusRead runs entirely in your browser. It never sends the pages you read anywhere, and it has no account, ads or tracking. FocusRead is an independent project and is not affiliated with any other reading method or brand.
