Overview
Connects FocusProof to Chrome to record website domains during active study sessions on your Mac.
FocusProof connects Google Chrome to the FocusProof Mac study recorder. During an active FocusProof study session, the extension reads the active tab URL, immediately reduces it to the website hostname—such as example.com—and sends only that hostname to the FocusProof app on the same Mac through Chrome native messaging. This allows FocusProof to create a clearer local record of how a study session unfolded across applications and supported Chrome websites. The extension popup clearly shows its current state: • Ready — FocusProof is connected, but no eligible session is active • Recording — supported Chrome-domain activity is being recorded • Paused — the active FocusProof session is paused • Connection unavailable — the extension cannot currently connect to the FocusProof Mac app Privacy • No FocusProof account or login is required. • No advertisements or analytics are included. • Website-domain information is processed locally on the Mac. • The extension does not send browsing activity to an external analytics service or third party. • Full URLs, URL paths, query strings, searches, page titles, page contents, typed text, screenshots, clipboard contents, local files and Incognito activity are not collected. • Recording occurs only during an eligible active FocusProof study session. The extension does not operate as a standalone study tracker.
