FocusGuard – Site Blocker
Overview
Block distracting websites and stay focused.
FocusGuard — Block distractions. Stay focused. FocusGuard lets you block any website you choose so you can stay on track and get work done. There are no predefined blocklists. You decide exactly which domains to block — whether it’s social media, news, or anything else that pulls your attention away. Simple, reliable blocking Add a domain, and FocusGuard takes care of the rest. When you try to open a blocked site, the request is automatically redirected to a local “blocked” page. No delays, no workarounds — it just works. FocusGuard uses Chrome’s built-in declarativeNetRequest system, so blocking happens at the network level. That means it’s fast, consistent, and doesn’t slow down your browser. Why it needs <all_urls> FocusGuard allows you to block any domain. Since the extension doesn’t know in advance which sites you’ll choose, it needs access to all URLs to apply your rules properly. This ensures blocking works across all domains, subdomains, and URL variations. This permission is used only to match the domains you add and redirect those requests. No tracking. No data collection. FocusGuard is intentionally simple: It does not read page content It does not track your browsing It does not send any data anywhere Everything runs locally in your browser. Nothing leaves your machine. Use it for Blocking distracting websites Staying focused during work or study Building better browsing habits
