Focused helps you read without losing your place. Select any text, click Focused, and a calm, natural voice reads it to you. The words light up one phrase at a time, following the punctuation, so your eyes always know where to look. Made for people with ADHD, AuDHD and dyslexia, and for anyone who reads better when they can listen too. WHAT YOU GET • Natural voice: choose Heart (female) or Michael (male). Speed from 0.5x to 2x. • Phrase highlighting: one phrase at a time, from comma to comma, in a clear yellow that is easy to follow on light and dark pages. • Natural flow: the voice reads whole sentences, so its tone follows the punctuation. • Three ways to read: highlight right on the page, in a small panel, or in full screen. • Full screen reading: larger text, more line spacing and an OpenDyslexic font option. Press Esc to leave. • Notes: pin the phrase you are hearing and add your own thought to it. Click a note to jump back to that spot. Save your notes to a file. • New text in one click: select or copy something new and press the New text button. No page reload needed. • Start over or replay a sentence anytime. • Stays out of your way: close it and a small owl tab waits on the edge of your screen. • Clear labels: point at any button to see what it does. • Light and dark mode. • Works on most websites, including Claude. In Google Docs, copy the text first, then click Focused. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • The natural voice runs on your own computer. Your text is never sent anywhere. • No account. No ads. No tracking. No data collected. • The first time you play, Focused downloads the voice once (about 92 MB) and keeps it on your computer. Until then, it reads with your browser's voice. HOW TO USE 1. Select text on any page. 2. Click the Focused button in your toolbar, right-click and choose "Read with Focused", or press Cmd+Shift+F (Ctrl+Shift+F on Windows). 3. Press Play. The core reading experience is free.
