Focus Reader

Turn a bookmark folder into a finite, locked reading queue: get N articles at a time, then unlock the next batch.

Turn a Chrome bookmark folder into a reading queue you can actually finish. Saving an article feels productive, but the small reward of saving often replaces the harder act of reading. Focus Reader does not create another inbox, tag system, or read-later service. It limits how many saved articles you can see at once. Core features • Locked batches: draw 1–10 articles; no new articles appear until the batch is complete • One daily reroll: the allowance returns each day, but a batch is committed once any article is handled • Four selection methods: Random, Oldest first, Source diversity, and Balanced length • Three clear actions: open the source page, archive as read, or abandon • Read archive: finished bookmarks move to a dedicated subfolder and receive the completion date • Abandon: permanently deletes a bookmark only after a two-step confirmation • Arcade progress: STAGE, SCORE, COMBO, a 24-segment energy meter, and a 17-slot pixel bookshelf • Local statistics: articles read, reading streak, completed batches, and abandoned items Saving remains unlimited Focus Reader never blocks Ctrl+D or new bookmarks. The constraint applies to the reading queue, not to saving: saving stays free; attention stays finite. Source pages stay untouched Open navigates directly to the original bookmark URL. The extension does not read, extract, inject into, or rewrite page content, and it requests no website access.
