Focus Lock
Overview
Privacy-first focus tool with voluntary enforcement, local analytics, workspace protection, and YouTube filters.
Focus Lock — Privacy-First Attention Intelligence Focus Lock is a privacy-first, open-source Chrome extension designed to help you stay focused without compromising your privacy. Unlike traditional website blockers, Focus Lock combines voluntary enforcement, mindful interruption, local attention analytics, workspace protection, and YouTube distraction filters to help you build better focus habits over time. Everything runs entirely on your device—no accounts, no cloud services, no telemetry, and no tracking. Whether you're studying, coding, researching, writing, or working, Focus Lock helps you stay intentional instead of relying solely on traditional website blocking. Create distraction-free focus sessions with custom durations, define your intention before you begin, and choose from six levels of voluntary enforcement ranging from passive tracking to strict tab locking. When you leave your workspace, Focus Lock can gently encourage you to make a conscious decision by presenting an intention check instead of immediately blocking your access. Gain insights into how you work with locally generated reports that include focus time, session statistics, context switching, workflow stability, deep work scorecards, domain transition graphs, and weekly summaries. Every report is generated entirely on your device, ensuring your browsing data never leaves your computer. Focus Lock also includes YouTube Focus Filters that let you hide the Home Feed, Shorts, Related Videos, and Comments so you can enjoy a cleaner, distraction-free viewing experience while keeping educational content accessible. Your privacy is the foundation of Focus Lock. All settings, focus sessions, workspaces, and analytics are stored locally using Chrome Storage and IndexedDB. The extension never uploads your data, never collects analytics, and never communicates with external servers. You remain in complete control, with the ability to export, import, reset, or delete your data whenever you choose. Focus Lock is fully open source, allowing anyone to inspect the source code, verify its privacy claims, report issues, or contribute to its development. Whether you're a student, software engineer, researcher, writer, or professional, Focus Lock helps you reduce distractions, work with greater intention, and build sustainable focus habits while keeping your data completely private.
