Overview

Website blocker + Pomodoro for Chrome. Block any site during deep work. Always-on option. Local-first.

Focus Fence is a free Chrome website blocker and Pomodoro timer for deep work. When you start a focus session, sites on your blocklist (YouTube, X/Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, or anything you add) redirect to a calm blocked page instead of loading. Prefer always-on? Keep the blocklist active even between sessions. ★ WHAT IT DOES • Website blocker — block entire hosts you choose • Pomodoro focus & break timer — set minutes, start focus, badge shows time left • Always-on mode — keep blocking without a running timer • Calm blocked page — no doomscroll, just a reminder to stay in the field • Optional local webcam timelapse — record a focus block on your machine only, download a WebM when done • Fully local — blocklist and timers stay in chrome.storage.local. No account. No Focus Fence servers. ★ WHY INSTALL IT • Stay focused without relying on willpower alone • One extension for site blocking + Pomodoro instead of two tools • Works on any site you list — not a fixed “bad sites” list only • Privacy-first: nothing uploads ★ HOW TO USE 1. Open the Focus Fence popup 2. Edit your blocked sites list 3. Set focus / break minutes 4. Click start focus (or enable always-on) 5. Optional: turn on webcam timelapse and keep that window open during the session ★ PERMISSIONS (WHY WE NEED THEM) • storage — save your blocklist and timer settings • alarms — tick the Pomodoro timer • tabs / windows — badge + optional timelapse window • declarativeNetRequest — redirect blocked sites only while focus or always-on is active • host access — so blocking can apply to any host you put on your list Privacy policy: https://ayaanrustagi.github.io/focus-field/privacy.html Homepage: https://ayaanrustagi.github.io/focus-field/
