Focus — Blur Previews

Blur video previews, ads, and players on sites you choose. Per-site controls, a one-hour pause, and completely local settings.

Make room for focused work. Focus blurs distracting visual content on websites you choose, while keeping text, links, and page layout usable. Choose what to blur on each site: • Video previews — recognized thumbnails and short preview clips. • Advertisements — recognized banners, ad placements, and advertising frames. • Video players — video surfaces and supported player posters. • Other images — ordinary pictures and standalone background visuals. Video previews, advertisements, and players are enabled by default. Other images stay visible until you enable that category. YOUR SITES, YOUR SETTINGS Add a domain or paste a website address. Subdomains are included. Each site remembers its own categories and blur strength, from 8 to 64 px. Access is requested only when you add a site. PAUSE WHEN YOU NEED THE FULL PICTURE Pause a site for one hour to reveal it across all its tabs. Resume earlier at any time. The pause deadline survives page reloads and browser restarts. LOCAL BY DESIGN No account, analytics, external image analysis, or remote code. Preferences stay on your computer and are not synced. Focus does not upload page contents, browsing history, images, or video. WORKS WITH CHANGING PAGES Recognized content is blurred as pages load and as new previews appear during scrolling. Site-specific rules supplement universal detection. PLEASE NOTE Detection depends on each website's markup and can miss some content. Focus changes the appearance of a page; it does not block websites, stop video or sound, or prevent advertising resources from loading. Some browser-protected pages cannot be modified. Requires Chrome 119 or later. Interface language: English.
