)Overview
Watch web video through a real-time WebGL CRT shader: scanlines, phosphor mask, glow and analog colour.
Bring the warmth and texture of a CRT to the videos you watch in Chrome. RetroShader CRT adds adjustable scanlines, phosphor masks, glow, and analog color to compatible web videos in real time. Rediscover retro game footage, animation, films, and older TV with a look inspired by the screens of their era. Start with a preset, then tune the picture to your taste. FIND YOUR CRT LOOK - Seven presets: Consumer TV, Trinitron TV, PVM / BVM monitor, Arcade cabinet, Composite console, Living-room TV (movies), and Subtle. - Adjust scanline count and softness, phosphor mask type and strength, brightness, bloom, saturation, and white point. - Choose an RGB, S-Video, composite, or RF signal look. Composite processing can blend dithering and add color bleed or rainbow artifacts. - Open Advanced controls for finer adjustments, including beam shape, gamma, and your display's RGB/BGR subpixel order. EASY TO USE WHILE YOU WATCH - Automatically finds a prominent video on the page. - Compare the original and CRT picture side by side with the split-screen Compare switch. - Toggle the effect everywhere or disable it for individual sites. - Switch presets, toggle the effect, and compare with customizable keyboard shortcuts. - Keeps your settings between sessions. GET STARTED Install the extension, reload an existing video tab, and play a video. Click the RetroShader CRT toolbar icon to choose a preset and adjust the picture. Fullscreen or theater mode gives scanlines more room to resolve. COMPATIBILITY RetroShader CRT processes HTML video elements using WebGL2. It is designed for video, including recorded gameplay; it does not apply the shader to browser-game canvases. DRM-protected video and videos whose sites block pixel access cannot be processed. Picture-in-picture shows the original video. Results and performance depend on the video, website, graphics hardware, and display. To use compatible local video files, enable "Allow access to file URLs" in the extension's Chrome settings. The extension needs site access to find video players and draw the effect, and storage permission to remember your settings and disabled sites.
