FlowSave is a lightweight productivity extension that lets you save named checkpoints of any AI conversation directly in your browser. All data is stored locally — no account, no cloud, no tracking. ── THE PROBLEM ───────────────────────────────────── AI conversations are non-linear by nature. You start a session with a clear goal, the direction is sharp, and then — after too many iterations, corrections, or tangents — the thread loses focus. The original quality is buried under revisions. There is no native way to mark a moment in a conversation as "this is the good version" and return to it later. FlowSave fills that gap. ── HOW IT WORKS ──────────────────────────────────── At any point in an AI conversation, select the text you want to preserve, right-click, and choose "Save as Checkpoint". A panel opens where you name the checkpoint, assign a rating from 1 to 10, add optional tags and notes, and optionally mark it as Gold — your highest-priority reference point for that project. When a conversation drifts too far and you need to start fresh, open FlowSave, navigate to your project, find the right checkpoint using filters, and click "Copy restore prompt". A structured prompt is copied to your clipboard, ready to paste into a new chat. The AI receives the full context — project name, checkpoint name, rating, tags, notes, and the saved text — and can continue from exactly that point. ── KEY FEATURES ──────────────────────────────────── Checkpoint management Save named snapshots of any AI conversation at any moment. Each checkpoint includes a name, a 1–10 quality rating, free-form tags, and a personal notes field for recording what worked, what did not, and why. Checkpoints are organised by project, so you can maintain separate histories for different workflows. Gold marking Mark any checkpoint as Gold to flag it as a key reference point within its project. Gold checkpoints are independent of the numerical rating — a checkpoint rated 9 can be marked Gold if it represents the best available starting point at that moment. One-click restore Each checkpoint generates a structured restore prompt that includes all saved metadata and text. Clicking "Copy restore prompt" places the complete prompt on your clipboard. Open a new AI chat, paste, and continue — no manual formatting, no information loss. Project organisation Checkpoints are grouped by project. You can maintain multiple active projects simultaneously, each with its own checkpoint history. Projects are sorted by most recently updated, so your active work is always at the top. Filter and search Filter checkpoints by Gold status or by tag to locate the right reference point quickly, even in projects with a long checkpoint history. Edit and delete Any checkpoint can be edited after saving — update the name, text, notes, tags, rating, or Gold status at any time. Checkpoints that no longer serve a purpose can be deleted individually. Projects can also be deleted along with all their associated checkpoints. ── PRIVACY AND DATA ──────────────────────────────── All data created by FlowSave is stored exclusively in your browser's local IndexedDB storage. Nothing is transmitted to any external server. FlowSave does not collect personal data, does not use analytics, and does not contain advertising of any kind. The extension requests only the two permissions strictly necessary for its functionality: storage for session state and contextMenus for the right-click save action.
