HistFzf — fzf for your Chrome history. Search your browsing history the way you search your code. Hit one shortcut, type a loose fragment of a page title or URL — "pull" lands on github.com/…/pull-requests — and jump back with Enter. WHY Chrome's address-bar history search is weak: prefix-biased matching, opaque ranking, and Chrome only keeps ~90 days of history. HistFzf gives you an independent, permanent copy of your history that you can fuzzy-match with the real fzf algorithm — ranked the way launchers like Raycast and Arc rank. WHAT YOU GET • One shortcut, one palette — Ctrl+Shift+Space (Mac: physical Control+R) opens a centered, keyboard-first palette over the current tab. Works even on tabs that were open before you installed. • Authentic fzf matching — the genuine fzf subsequence algorithm scores page titles AND URLs; matched characters are highlighted at their exact positions (type "pull" and watch github.com/pull-requests surface). • Ranked like Raycast/Arc — a bounded "frecency" boost (frequency + recency) floats your habits up without ever letting popularity steal the win from a clearly better match. • Your history, kept forever — on install, HistFzf seeds its own copy of your history, then captures every new visit live. Pages Chrome already evicted still surface. • Smarter than bookmarks — URL variants collapse into one record (github.com/pulls, github.com/pulls/, and ?utm_source=rss are one page with one visit count). • Full keyboard navigation — arrows or Ctrl+N / Ctrl+P to move (no wrap), Enter opens the current tab, Shift/Cmd/Ctrl+Enter opens a new tab, Esc closes. Hovering works too. • Your top pages before you type — opening the palette shows a frecency landing list immediately. • Works everywhere — on restricted pages (chrome://, the new-tab page, Web Store) the palette opens in its own tab instead; and "h" + Space in the address bar gives you 6-row suggestions on ANY tab. PRIVACY, PLAINLY HistFzf is a local, single-user tool. Nothing ever leaves your machine: no accounts, no analytics, no network calls, no remote code. Your history is copied into the extension's own local database to power this search — it is never transmitted, sold, or used for advertising, and deleting Chrome's history does not delete your copy (removing the extension deletes everything). TUNABLE Open the extension options to adjust the ranking weights yourself: how much popularity matters (Wf), how much freshness matters (Wr), the recency horizon, and the habit-boost ceiling.
