Saves text you copy on webpages to a local history you can search and copy again. Nothing leaves your browser.

Citeback keeps a searchable history of text you copy on webpages, so you never lose something you copied a minute (or a week) ago. HOW IT WORKS - Copy text on any webpage as usual. - Click the Citeback icon (or press Ctrl+Shift+Y, Command+Shift+Y on Mac) and search your history. - Press Enter to copy the top result, or click Copy on any clip. - Each clip remembers the page link and the time you copied it. PRIVATE BY DESIGN - Everything stays on your device. Citeback makes no network requests. - No account, no sync, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. - Password fields and card or one-time-code fields are never captured. - One-click Pause, and Clear history whenever you want. - Page addresses are saved without the part after ? or # (except search terms and video IDs on well-known sites, so those links still work), unless you turn on "Save the full page address". BUILT TO BE TRUSTWORTHY - Capture check: confirm on a real page that copying is being saved. - Toolbar badge shows when capture is paused, and flashes a check mark after each saved copy (optional). - Set a maximum number of saved clips, from 50 to 1,000. GOOD TO KNOW - Citeback captures text copied on webpages in the browser. It is not a system-wide clipboard manager and does not capture images or files. - Some sites copy with their own "Copy" buttons, which may not be captured. - It does not run on chrome:// pages or the Chrome Web Store, or in Incognito unless you allow it. - Clips are stored unencrypted in your browser profile. Citeback needs permission to run on webpages only to detect when you copy text. It does nothing else with that access.
