Overview

Stream torrent and magnet videos in your browser — playback starts before the download finishes.

Flitplay turns a magnet link or a .torrent file into a video you can watch right now. Paste the link, press play, and streaming starts as soon as the first pieces arrive — no waiting for the full torrent to download, no uploading to a website, no account. HOW IT WORKS Flitplay pairs this extension with a small helper app you install once on your computer. The helper joins the BitTorrent swarm, fetches pieces in the order the player needs them, and streams the video to your browser over a private loopback connection. Because pieces arrive in playback order, watching starts in seconds and seeking ahead does not mean downloading everything in between. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Stream torrent videos in a browser tab — playback starts on the first pieces • Open magnet links and .torrent files from the toolbar popup or the right-click menu • Save a video to disk through the browser's download manager when you want to keep it • Play MP4 and WebM directly; MKV and other formats the browser cannot decode are remuxed or transcoded on the fly • Pick audio tracks, seek freely, and keep your sessions across browser restarts • Optional in-page controls add a play button next to torrent links on the pages you visit — off by default, enabled only through the browser's own permission prompt, and fully revocable PRIVATE BY ARCHITECTURE There is no Flitplay server between you and the video. The stream goes from the helper to your browser over loopback (127.0.0.1) and never leaves your machine. No account, no analytics, no telemetry. The only network traffic is what BitTorrent itself requires — your machine talking to trackers and peers for the torrents you open — plus an identifier-free check of the helper's public release list. Seeding (uploading) stays off until you switch it on. WHAT FLITPLAY IS NOT Flitplay is a torrent player, not a catalogue. It has no search, no index, and no built-in content: it acts only on torrents you supply. Use it for content you have the right to access — open movies such as Big Buck Bunny and Sintel, Linux ISOs, public-domain archives, and your own files. REQUIREMENTS • Chrome, or any Chromium-based browser, on macOS, Windows, or Linux • The free Flitplay Helper from https://flitplay.giftely.ai — the extension walks you through the one-time install and keeps the helper up to date afterwards, verifying every download by SHA-256 SUPPORT AND POLICIES Website: https://flitplay.giftely.ai Privacy policy: https://flitplay.giftely.ai/privacy.html Terms of use: https://flitplay.giftely.ai/terms.html
