)Overview
Nearby aircraft radar powered by the OpenSky Network, anonymous tier by default.
FlightPulse shows the aircraft flying near you right now, live, on a radar-style display — right in your browser, no account or sign-up required. Open the extension, allow location access once, and you'll see every aircraft currently broadcasting ADS-B data within your chosen radius, positioned and moving in real time. It's powered by the OpenSky Network, a free, community-run flight tracking data source — FlightPulse works out of the box on OpenSky's public anonymous tier, no API key or registration needed. WHAT YOU'LL SEE • A live radar view centered on your location, with aircraft rendered as color-coded icons by type: airliners, private/general aviation, helicopters, and military aircraft. • Adjustable zoom, from 5 km to 200 km, via a simple stepper control. • Tap any aircraft for details: callsign, altitude, speed, heading, and (via a free public lookup) its registration and aircraft model. • Pin one aircraft to keep tracking it as the display updates. • A category filter menu to show or hide airliners, private aircraft, helicopters, or military traffic individually. • A units toggle for kilometers or miles. • "Find Flight" lookup — enter a flight number to check its schedule and status (departure/arrival airports, scheduled/actual/estimated times). This is a separate, optional feature: it requires you to supply your own free API key from a third-party flight-status provider in Settings and is not needed for the core radar view to work. WHY IT'S ANONYMOUS BY DEFAULT Extension source code is inspectable by anyone, so FlightPulse doesn't (and can't) ship a hidden account or secret key. Instead it connects to OpenSky's free anonymous tier automatically — you can optionally add your own OpenSky account credentials in Settings for a higher refresh rate, but nothing is required to start using it. PRIVACY FlightPulse only requests the permissions it actually uses: • Location — to center the radar on you and calculate aircraft distance/ bearing. Used locally in your browser; only your coordinates (not your identity) are sent to OpenSky to fetch nearby traffic. • Storage — to remember your settings (units, filters, optional API credentials) locally on your device between sessions. No browsing history, personal data, or analytics are collected, and nothing is sold or shared with third parties beyond the aircraft-data requests described above. Full privacy policy available in-extension and linked from this listing. WHO IT'S FOR Plane spotters, aviation enthusiasts, people near an airport or flight path curious what's overhead, and anyone who enjoys watching live air traffic the way a radar controller would. FlightPulse is an independent, community project and is not affiliated with any airline, airport, or air traffic control authority. Aircraft data is provided by the OpenSky Network and may be incomplete or delayed depending on ADS-B receiver coverage in your area.
