Turns your new tab into a split-flap airport board clock with a time zone map.

Flaptab turns every new tab into a split-flap clock inspired by the mechanical arrival boards of airports and train stations. Each time the minute changes, the flaps turn over with a satisfying animation, so the time is right there, clean and readable, every time you open a tab. Below the clock, a world map divides the planet into 24 time zone bands. Your band is highlighted, and you can click any other band to see what time it is there right now. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ✈ WHAT YOU GET • Split-flap clock: large animated flaps for hours, minutes and, if you like, seconds. • Date and day board: today's date and weekday, shown in the same flap style. • Interactive time zone map: a dotted world map split into 15° bands, one for each hour from UTC−12 to UTC+12. • See the time anywhere: click a band to show that band's UTC time on the board, with an example city for reference. One click on "Back to local time" returns you to your own clock. • Your position on the map: a small marker shows roughly where you are (optional, and it never leaves your device). • Four themes: – Board: the classic cream-on-charcoal departure board – Cockpit: a dark, high-contrast instrument look – LED: glowing amber dot-matrix digits – Classic: colored tiles for time, date and day • 12-hour or 24-hour time, with an AM/PM indicator in 12-hour mode. • Seconds on or off, depending on whether you want a calm or a ticking clock. • Eight languages: English, Türkçe, العربية (with full right-to-left layout), 中文, Français, Русский, Español and Deutsch. • Fully offline: all fonts and map data are built in. Flaptab makes no network requests, so it opens instantly. • Lightweight: no accounts, no sign-up, no ads, no background activity. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⚙ HOW TO USE 1. Install Flaptab and open a new tab. 2. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner to open Settings. 3. Choose your theme, language, time format, seconds and location preference. Your choices are remembered automatically. 4. Click any band on the map to check the time in another part of the world. 5. Click the ⓘ icon in Settings for details about time zones, privacy and licenses. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🌍 ABOUT THE TIME ZONE MAP The map shows the 24 geographic time zone bands, each 15° wide and representing a one-hour offset from UTC. Real-world time zones follow national borders and political decisions, so a country's official time can differ from the band it sits in. Turkey, for example, uses UTC+3 but lies mostly in the +2 band. The label above the clock always shows your official local time, taken from your device. The example cities for each band were chosen from places that do not observe daylight saving time. Half-hour zones (such as India, UTC+5:30) are not shown as separate bands. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🔒 PRIVACY FIRST • No personal data is collected. • No data is sent to any server; Flaptab makes no network requests at all. • No cookies, analytics or tracking. • Your settings are stored only in your own browser. • Location is optional. It is on by default and can be turned off at any time in Settings. When on, your position is rounded to about 10 km, stored only on your device and used only to place the marker on the map. Turning the feature off deletes it.
