fLab Story Importer and Exporter is a productivity tool for FictionLab scenario creators that lets you manage your scenarios as local files. Edit them in any text editor, keep them in version control, and push updates to the editor in bulk instead of copy-pasting field by field. Export: Saves your entire scenario to a .json file on your computer. Captures every field including scenario name, description, tags, backstory, greeting message, custom instructions, settings toggles, and all lore cards with their type, title, description, content, weight, triggers, flags, and linked pieces. Load and Update: Load a .json file back into the panel and hit the play button to automatically fill every field in the editor. New lore cards are created if they don't exist, existing ones are updated in place. Convert: Switch between .json and .md formats. The Markdown format is human-readable and easy to edit in any text editor, great for drafting scenario content outside the browser. Delete All Lore: Wipe all lore cards from the editor in one click, with a confirmation step to prevent accidents. If you build complex FictionLab scenarios with many lore cards, updating them one by one through the editor UI is tedious. This tool lets you edit your scenario offline in any text editor, push the whole thing to FictionLab in one shot, version control your files in Git, duplicate and remix scenarios without redoing everything manually, and recover from mistakes since your scenario always exists as a local file. The Settings panel lets you choose exactly which fields get updated when you load a file, so you can push only lore card content without touching your greeting message, or update backstory while leaving your tags alone. This extension collects no data. Everything happens locally in your browser and files are saved only to your own device. Not affiliated with FictionLab.
