Overview

Open Facebook chessboard images in the Lichess board editor with one right-click.

Turn chessboard screenshots and diagrams on Facebook into editable Lichess positions. Right-click a chessboard image and choose "Open board in Lichess". Chessboard Open in Lichess detects the board, recognizes the pieces, and opens the position in the Lichess board editor. Recognition runs locally in your browser. The selected image is not uploaded to the developer or to a third-party recognition service. Features: • Recognizes axis-aligned 2D chess screenshots and diagrams • Works with multiple board themes and piece sets • Preserves the detected board orientation • Lets you review uncertain results before opening them • Includes no accounts, analytics, advertising, or tracking Limitations: • Photos of physical boards taken at an angle are not currently supported • Images do not contain move history, so positions default to White to move and use inferred or neutral FEN metadata To request support for another website, contact us through the support email on this listing or open an issue on GitHub.
