New Tabs for Jira Data Center Kanban Boards
1 rating
)Overview
Opens tickets from Jira Data Center Kanban boards directly in new tabs.
Idea and background: Jira Data Center opens issues on Kanban boards in a side detail view by default. This is useful for a quick preview, but it can become inconvenient when issues need to be opened in full, compared side by side, or handled across multiple tabs. This extension simplifies that workflow: a regular click on an issue card on a Kanban board opens the corresponding issue directly in a new browser tab. The Kanban board remains open, allowing several issues to be viewed or edited in parallel. How it works: IMPORTANT: For the extension to work as intended, the Jira detail view must be hidden in the board settings. The extension popup lets users choose whether new tabs should open in the foreground or in the background. Privacy The extension processes issue keys and issue links locally in the browser only. No Jira content, user data, or settings are transmitted to external servers. Stored preferences are limited to the selected language, the enabled status, and whether new tabs should open in the foreground or background. Disclaimer This extension is an independent open-source project and is not affiliated with Atlassian. It is designed specifically for Jira Data Center Kanban boards and is not intended for Jira Cloud.
