Overview

Private, personalized review suggestions anchored inside Google Docs

First Pass is a private review assistant for managers who review Google Docs. It learns patterns from comments you already wrote on Google Docs you explicitly select, then finds the same kinds of issues in a new draft. Suggestions appear as private highlights and numbered markers over the Doc and in the side panel. Nothing is posted to the document and nothing becomes visible to the author. HOW IT WORKS 1. Sign in with the Google account you use for reviews. 2. Optionally add your direct reports so First Pass can personalize by document owner. 3. Choose past Google Docs with Google Picker. First Pass keeps only comments written by your Google account and learns from up to 200 relevant examples. 4. Open a Google Doc and run First Pass. The extension reads the active document through a local, read-only bridge; if that is unavailable, it asks you to authorize that one file in Picker. 5. Edit, accept, reject, or copy each suggestion. “Accept” saves it to your private queue; it does not publish a Google comment. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • First Pass never creates a Google Docs comment and never edits document content. • Suggestions and your decisions stay private unless you separately choose to copy and share them. • Suggestions are grounded in an exact, unique passage. Ambiguous or missing anchors are dropped instead of guessed. • A document fingerprint marks results stale after the document changes. LEAST-PRIVILEGE GOOGLE ACCESS • Drive scope is drive.file only: First Pass can read only files you explicitly select in Google Picker. • Selecting a folder does not grant its children, so First Pass asks for the specific Docs. • Your Google Drive access token stays inside Chrome and is never sent to the First Pass server. • Google Picker’s official SDK runs inside a static, isolated getbossbot.com frame with no extension API access; the token remains in browser memory and is never sent to First Pass/BossBot servers. • userinfo.email identifies the correct reviewer profile and lets the extension retain only comments authored by your account. DATA USE Selected comment content and document text are sent to the First Pass API only to build your reviewer profile and generate requested suggestions. Event analytics do not include document or comment text. Privacy: https://getbossbot.com/firstpass/privacy Support: support@getbossbot.com
