Overview

Bring your firm into Firmary from the tools you use today, in this browser, signed in as you, on the sites you allow.

Firmary moves your firm's records out of the tools you use today and into your Firmary account. It works in the Chrome side panel, in this browser, in the tools you're already signed in to, and only on the sites you allow. How it works 1. Connect. In Firmary, open Setup → Move to Firmary and press Show a pairing code. Open the Firmary side panel and enter the code. The extension connects only to a firmary.app address. 2. Allow each tool. For each tool in your move, the side panel asks you to let Firmary open it. Chrome then asks you for that tool's addresses only, such as QuickBooks Online's own intuit.com addresses. It doesn't ask to read any other site. 3. Watch it read. Firmary opens the tool in its own tab group, titled Firmary, goes through your lists by itself and shows live progress in the side panel, such as "40 of 55 customers read". For a tool it doesn't know, it looks around for your clients, contacts, jobs and tasks, and you confirm what it found before anything comes in. It only reads: it never types, saves, sends or deletes. QuickBooks Online Firmary reads your Customers list. Each customer comes in as a client. Where the customer is a person, or a company listed under a person's name, that person also comes in as the client's contact. Choose Automatic, and Firmary opens the list in its own tab and reads every page while you keep working. Choose Guided, and you page through the list yourself while Firmary keeps each page you open. A tool Firmary hasn't read before ("Something else") Firmary looks around the tool to learn where your clients, contacts, jobs and tasks are, and proposes which Firmary field each column goes to. You check each column, choose Leave out for any column you don't want, and press Bring these in. Firmary then reads those lists like any other tool. To find the lists, the extension sends Firmary, for each page it opens: a screenshot of the visible tab, when Chrome allows one (it often doesn't for a walk Firmary drives by itself); the page's title and address; an outline of its headings, links, buttons and column headers; the page's markup; the tool's own data calls (address without its query, method, status, and for a JSON list its field names and two sample rows); and the endpoint addresses its scripts name. Before anything leaves the tab, the text of rows and the sample values in the markup and calls are replaced by their shape ("Aaaa AAA", "999-9999"), links lose their slugs, tokens and queries, and keys, tokens and passwords are blanked. At most six rows of one kind are kept under a parent. The screenshot is of the page as drawn, so it shows whatever is on screen, including names, amounts and notes. Social Security and employer ID numbers are not blanked, so Firmary can copy them. Firmary passes all of this to Anthropic's Claude model, its AI provider, to find the lists. Nothing is sent from a page that asks for a password or a code, and nothing from a site you did not allow. The extension skips the screenshot when it detects credential-looking text on the page or any visible frame; this is a best-effort check, not a guarantee that a screenshot never shows something sensitive. While it looks around a tool, the extension also notes that tool's own network calls (their address, status and the shape of a JSON list reply), only for that tool, only while Firmary is looking around it, and nothing the owner types. It only reads In your tools, Firmary opens lists and turns their pages. It never types, saves, sends or deletes anything there. It reads the rows of your lists, never a form field, and it doesn't read password fields. Your passwords and sign-ins never leave this computer. You stay in charge - When a tool asks for you, Firmary stops and says what it needs. After a sign-in, a sign-in code or a check that you're a person, Firmary carries on reading by itself once you're back on the list, or you press Carry on. For anything else, and while Firmary is learning a tool, you press Carry on. - Take over or Pause from the side panel at any time. Firmary waits until you press Carry on, and what it kept so far stays. - Disconnect from the side panel. This browser forgets its connection, and Chrome withdraws the tool addresses you allowed. The same happens when the connection expires or ends in Firmary. What Firmary receives Firmary receives the records you move, and a log of every step. The extension sends them only to the Firmary account you connected it to. Requirements - A Firmary account with Move to Firmary open for your firm. - Chrome 120 or later.
