FireFocus is a productivity Chrome extension for timed work. You name what you are doing, pick how long, and start. Pages that match the topic stay open. Off-topic tabs get a full-page wall so you can walk away and return to the work. You sit down to study, code, write, or ship a ticket. Then a “quick look” opens: a listing, a mansion tour, a short clip, a random thread. Forty minutes later the work is still waiting. FireFocus is for those moments. Related pages stay. Everything else hits a wall. Willpower is a person. The internet is a company. This extension cannot give you a new personality, but it can put a gate on the tab. WHAT YOU GET • Timed sessions in two modes. “Focus on this”: type the work (for example “React interview prep”) and related pages stay. “Block this”: type the leak (for example “Conspiracy theories”) when you already know what to shut. • Social Media Manager, always on. Hide short-form clips on the rest of a site, or shut a site completely. There is also an adult-content filter. After you turn a rule on, you cannot turn that rule off for 24 hours. • Up to 50 domain and URL pattern rules with no model check during a session. Exact URLs and whole sites are supported. A path pattern can cover one section of a site while the rest still works. • An allowlist for sites that should skip every gate (you confirm first — that is powerful). Optional Allow music so playlists are not treated as wandering. • Session tools: pin it and start in one click. Keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+F on Windows/Linux (set Chrome shortcuts on Mac). Extend a live session. End early if you must — ending early is not counted as valid time. When the timer ends, you choose extend or stop. Turn on Allow in Incognito if you use private windows, or those windows can skip the gate. • A dashboard with a year of squares for the hours that counted, a daily goal, check history, billing, language, sounds, allowlist, URL rules, social switches, music providers, and support tickets. Choose Focus on this or Block this. Optionally allow music. 5. Hit START FOCUS or START BLOCK. 6. Do the work. Search stays. Docs stay. The lecture stays. 7. Wander into an off-topic tab and you hit the wall. Walk away. Get back to the topic. 8. Open the dashboard to see the hours you actually sat down. It does not sell your browsing history. FAQ What does FireFocus actually do? You start a timed session with a topic. Related pages stay open. Off-topic pages get a wall. You keep the session. Does it stop Google search? Search and on-topic results stay. If you wander into a listing, a mansion tour, a feed, or anything that has nothing to do with the work, you hit the wall. That is the point. Can I listen to music while I work? Yes. Turn Allow music on and keep your music sites on the music-providers list so a playlist is not treated as wandering. What if a page is actually related? The wall lets you explain the link to your topic. If the connection is real, you can continue. If it is not, stay with the work. You can also allowlist a domain you fully trust. What happens if I run out of usage? You will see a usage-limit message. Free resets weekly. Basic and Pro reset every month. If you only hit the day’s slice, it comes back tomorrow. Upgrade if you need a bigger pool. Can I use private windows? Private windows can skip FireFocus until you turn on Allow in Incognito on the extension details page. Is my data used for ads?
