Fire Clock NYC: Fire Response Times by ZIP Code
Overview
See how often structure fires happen in any NYC ZIP code and how fast FDNY arrives, next to the rest of the city. Free, offline.
Type a New York City ZIP code, or tap the map, and see two things for 2023 to 2025. How many structure fires happened there for every 10,000 people who live there, and how that compares with the city. How long FDNY typically took to arrive, and whether that is faster or slower than the rest of the city. Each ZIP gets a plain label, from Much lower to Much higher, set against every other ZIP code in the city. The map can show either fires or arrival time. The numbers come from FDNY's own public dispatch data on NYC Open Data, with population from the Census Bureau. Our average arrival time for July 2024 to June 2025 matches the city's Mayor's Management Report to the second. These are past averages, not a prediction and not a safety rating for any building. In an emergency, call 911. Not affiliated with FDNY or the City of New York. The full tool, with council and community district rankings and the method, is at northlineoffice.com/tools/nyc-fire.
