Extension works for me I don't know what others are talking about
ChrisAug 12, 2024
So I can't agree that this extension works. Mine has been broken for at least as long as the previous reviewer who left a review on June 20, 2024. It's just not accessing the API at all, and is acting like the API is non-existent. I've no idea why. I assumed the project had been abandoned. I'm sorry, I can't help more than that, I don't know where to start troubleshooting it. It's for every page.

Thanks for the report. Strangely, the extension is still working perfectly fine for me. Some questions: - Do you have auto-search enabled? - Does the search work if you manually click the search button in the extension popup? - What does the error look like? Does it say "error, retrying" when you open the extension popup? - What do you see in the console tab if you right click the extension icon and click "inspect popup"? - Are you on Chrome or some other Chrome-like browser? Which version? - Where are you located? Are you on a VPN? Is there something that might be blocking the Reddit API on your network? - Can you access the API outside the extension? Try opening: -- https://www.reddit.com/api/info.json?url=https://xkcd.com/1732/ -- https://api.reddit.com/search.json?sort=top&t=all&limit=100&q=url:https://xkcd.com/1732/ --https://api.reddit.com/duplicates/6eufjj What do you see? - Feel free to reply here: https://github.com/AdeelH/find-on-reddit/issues/48 or via support hub (at the bottom of the page).

Doesn't work anymore

Hi, developer here. The extension does work and is still supported. I personally use it everyday. What problems are you running into? Feel free to reach out with screenshots on the support hub or create an issue on GitHub (https://github.com/AdeelH/find-on-reddit/issues).

I think the extension lacks of only one feature: a real alert or integrated message to the current web page to indicate the URL has associated reddit thread rather than a discrete count in the extension bar. Then it will become a must have. The developer has gold in his hands.

Before I was using camas & posting on my own dummy subreddits to find out if something was posted before. Both of those methods suck. This extension rules.

Amazingly useful extension! Thanks for listening to and implementing suggestions :) Really appreciate the hard work.

@Shae, the count only shows up if you have auto-search enabled. If you do not need it, you can disable it by un-checking the "Tab URL updated" and "Tab selected" options in the "Auto-search" section on the options page.

Really good extension. Works with Kiwi browser too

Either it doesn't work properly with Vivaldi or I don't get it.
Adeel HassanDeveloperFeb 5, 2022
Hello, thanks for trying out the extension. This extension is only guaranteed to work on Google Chrome. That said, I just tested it on Vivaldi browser and it seems to be working perfectly fine. Please either create an issue on the GitHub repo or post on the support tab with more details so that your specific issue can be debugged.
