Overview

Mortgage payment, amortization and rental cash flow on any listing — plus how often lenders in that metro approve FHA loans.

From FinanceRateCalc — independent research on the complete US federal mortgage record. Four tools on any Zillow, Redfin or Realtor.com listing, without leaving the page. NEW: THE FEDERAL DENIAL RECORD Every US lender reports every mortgage application outcome to the government under the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act. The file is public, and about two gigabytes, which is why almost nobody reads it. This extension puts the relevant part in front of you while you look at a house: • That metro's FHA denial rate, against the national 22.1% • The busiest FHA lenders operating there and how often each one said no • How much harder small loans were than large ones in that market In Cleveland last year the busiest FHA lenders ranged from 6.4% denied to 80.1% — same federal loan program, same city, same year. That gap is invisible on a listing page and it changes who gets a house. MORTGAGE CALCULATOR • Auto-detects the listing price • Monthly payment including FHA mortgage insurance, property tax and hazard insurance • Adjust price, down payment, rate, term, tax rate and HOA • The Shock Box: exactly how much the bank keeps versus how much you borrow AMORTIZATION SCHEDULE • Year-by-year principal, interest and remaining balance • See what you pay in interest in year 1 versus year 30 • The payment never changes — what it buys does LANDLORD CASH FLOW • Rent, vacancy allowance, full carrying costs • Net monthly cash flow and cash-on-cash return • Know whether it works as a rental before you buy BUYER DEMAND SCORE • HOT / WARM / COOLING / COLD from days on market and price reductions • A heuristic from the listing page, not federal data — labelled as such WHAT IT DOES NOT DO It does not rate or recommend lenders, and it does not predict whether you will be approved. Denial rates reflect who applies where as well as how a lender underwrites. Above roughly $1.2M the FHA panel does not appear at all, because FHA limits top out near there and the number would be padding. PRIVACY No account, no sign-in, no tracking, no analytics, no ads, nothing for sale. The extension reads the listing page you are already viewing to find the city and price, and requests one public data file from financeratecalc.com. Nothing about you is stored or transmitted anywhere. THE DATA Computed from the complete 2025 CFPB HMDA record — 1,187,606 FHA applications that reached a credit decision. The methodology is published in full, the datasets are free under CC BY 4.0 with a DOI, and no figure has been independently reproduced yet — which is stated on the site along with a specification for anyone who wants to check it. FinanceRateCalc is independent: not a lender, no lender compensation, no advertising.
