Overview
Copy YouTube subtitles, download high-res thumbnails, and extract video metadata in one click.
SubCopy — YouTube subtitles, thumbnails and video info in one click. What’s new in version 1.2: - Added downloading and copying of YouTube thumbnails in the highest available resolution. - Added one-click copying of complete public video information as a Markdown report. - Improved subtitle extraction for manual, auto-generated, and multilingual captions. - Added support for YouTube Shorts. - Improved error handling and behavior on unsupported pages. - Updated translations, privacy policy, and overall reliability. How it works: 1. Open a YouTube video with captions or a transcript. 2. Click the SubCopy icon. 3. Choose "With timestamps" or "Clean text". 4. Paste the copied transcript wherever you need it. Subtitles are found through a multi-tiered extraction cascade (active player, page state, DOM script tags, API context, transcript panel), so they work even when the page blocks standard methods. Privacy: SubCopy collects no data. It only reads the captions and metadata of the video in your active tab and writes to the clipboard when you choose to copy. No accounts, no tracking, no ads.
