File Tree for GitHub Compare
Overview
Adds a file tree to GitHub compare pages. Review releases, branches and dependency updates faster. Works on private repos.
GitHub shows a file tree on pull requests, but not when you compare two branches, tags or releases. This extension adds one. Use it when you: • click "Full Changelog" on a GitHub release • check what changed in a Dependabot or Renovate update • compare a release branch with main before merging WHAT YOU GET • Every changed file in a folder tree, with added / modified / deleted / renamed icons and +/− line counts • Click a file to jump to its diff; the URL updates so you can share the link • The file you're reading is highlighted as you scroll • Filter box: type "api test" to find src/api/__tests__/client.test.ts • Keyboard navigation, collapse/expand all, resizable width, Alt+Shift+T to hide • Matches every GitHub theme: light, dark, dimmed, high contrast, colorblind • Handles huge comparisons that load in batches PRIVATE AND FAST • Works on private repositories with no token or sign-in • Reads the page you're already on: no GitHub API calls, no rate limits • Your code never leaves your browser. The only network request is the license check. PRICING • 7-day free trial, no card needed • Then $2 one-time for a license key. Move it to a new computer any time.
