File Explorer Pro
Overview
Browse local directories with search, filters, image/video previews, grid/list views, and shortcuts. Fully local, no server calls.
File Explorer transforms Chrome's plain file:// directory listings into a powerful, visual file browser — right in your browser, everything local right on your device, no data is sent anywhere. FEATURES • Grid and list views with infinite scroll • Instant search across all files and folders • Filter by type: Images, Videos, Audio, Documents, Code, Archives • Sort by name, size, date modified, or type (asc/desc) • Media viewer with image & video previews, rotation, and keyboard nav • Thumbnail previews for images and videos • Breadcrumb navigation to jump between parent folders • Live stat bar showing counts per file type • Light, dark, and system theme — persisted across sessions • Full keyboard shortcut set (Ctrl+F, G/L, 1-9, Shift+?, [ ], ←/→) HOW IT WORKS The extension automatically activates on any file:// directory page and overlays the File Explorer UI over Chrome's native listing. All processing is local — no file contents or metadata are ever sent to any server. IMPORTANT AFTER INSTALL Open the extension Details and enable "Allow access to file URLs" — this is required for the extension to read local directories.
