Fixes for the small things Xero won't change. Approve an invoice without emailing it, and a Print button that actually prints.
Fettle fixes two small things in Xero that get in the way dozens of times a day. APPROVE WITHOUT EMAILING On a draft invoice the blue button is "Approve & email". Plain "Approve" is hidden in the dropdown beside it. If you approve invoices in a batch and send them later, that is extra clicks every single time, and one slip sends a customer an email you did not mean to send. There is a keyboard shortcut, Ctrl + Alt + A, and it does work. But a shortcut is not a default. You have to remember it every single time, and on the time you forget, muscle memory goes to the big blue button and the email is already gone. Fettle makes the blue button plain Approve. The invoice is approved, the email screen stays closed, and there is nothing to remember. More than 440 people have asked Xero for this on its own ideas board. PRINT THAT ACTUALLY PRINTS The button says "Print PDF", but it does not print. It downloads a file. You then open your downloads, find it, open it, and press print. Fettle sends that same PDF straight to your print dialog instead. It is Xero's own file. Nothing is rebuilt and nothing is altered. It just goes where you expected it to go. More than 380 people have asked Xero for this too. WHAT FETTLE DOES NOT DO No account. No sign up. No login. It does not collect, send or store any of your data. Your two on and off switches are saved in your own browser and nowhere else. It does not connect to Xero's API and it cannot read your accounting data. It only changes buttons on the page in front of you. It runs on xero.com and on no other site. WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG Fettle fails quietly on purpose. If it cannot complete an approval it does nothing at all and tells you, because the alternative is sending your customer an email you did not want sent. If it cannot open the print dialog it downloads the PDF exactly as Xero would have, so you never lose the file. Both fixes are free. Fettle is an independent extension.
