Overview

Send browser downloads to the Fetchrail download manager.

Connect your browser to Fetchrail, the Windows download manager. Send file links and browser downloads to the desktop app, choose files from a page, and control transfers from the browser companion. REQUIRES THE FETCHRAIL DESKTOP APP FOR WINDOWS Install Fetchrail v0.5.3 or later from https://fetchrail.rrmtools.uk/ before using the companion. Chrome 116 or later is required. DOWNLOAD FROM YOUR BROWSER • Right-click a file link and choose Download with Fetchrail. • Paste one or several HTTP(S) file URLs. • Select This page to scan links and media, search the results, and choose downloads. • Route eligible browser downloads to Fetchrail. If the handoff fails, the browser transfer continues. You can turn automatic routing off. CONTROL YOUR TRANSFERS • See live progress and control downloads with pause, resume, retry and cancel. • Choose a queue, up to 32 connections, a per-file speed limit, or a scheduled start. Connections adapt to the file and server. • Open the desktop app or keep the companion in its own tab. WORK THROUGH DOWNLOAD PAGES Browse a batch of download pages and capture their final file requests, including redirects and popups. Optional automatic following handles a single clear download button. Login, CAPTCHA and ambiguous steps require your input. LOCAL DATA HANDLING The companion connects to the desktop app through native messaging. Preferences and download information stay on your device; the extension does not send them to the developer or an analytics service. Optional browser session support forwards the final request's cookies and related headers to the local app for downloads that need your website session. Session support is off by default and requires optional website access. LIMITS Windows desktop integration is required. Blob/data URLs, POST-only downloads and protected streaming formats cannot be replayed. Private downloads, browser-flagged unsafe files and downloads initiated by other extensions remain in the browser. Download success depends on the source server and any required website session.
