Ferry: Send Files Nearby
1 rating
)Overview
Send files and text between this computer and your phones on the same Wi-Fi. Straight from device to device: nothing is uploaded.
Send photos, videos and documents between your computer and your phone, both ways, over your own Wi-Fi. No cables, no email-to-yourself, no cloud upload. HOW IT WORKS • Install Ferry and click its icon to open the side panel. • On your phone, open ferry.dorxon.com in the browser, or use the Ferry app for Android. • Your phone appears in the panel. Click it to send files, or drop files onto it. • Send from your phone to this computer at any time. Ferry runs in the background while Chrome is open, so you don't need to open anything on the computer. A notification asks you to Accept or Decline, and accepted files go to your Downloads folder. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Files go directly from one device to the other over your local network. They never pass through a server and are never stored anywhere. • No accounts, no sign-up, no ads, no analytics. • Nothing is received without your Accept. FAST Transfers move at the speed of your Wi-Fi. On a 5 GHz network or Ethernet, that's often tens of megabytes per second. CAN'T SEE YOUR PHONE? Some networks hide devices from each other (some mesh routers, VPNs, or mixed IPv4/IPv6). Pair the two devices with a 6-digit code instead. Both devices must be on the same network. Guest Wi-Fi with device isolation blocks direct connections.
