Choose files or a folder, create an encrypted download link, and share it wherever you like. • Send up to 10 GB per transfer, subject to the service’s current safety limits. • Encrypt file contents and names on your device before upload. • Add an optional password, choose an expiry, and set a download limit. • Continue uploading with the sidebar closed while your browser stays open. • Resume interrupted uploads with the original unchanged files within the three-hour upload window. • Revisit locally saved transfers to copy a link, resume an upload, or delete a transfer. • Optionally sign in by email to sync your activity days and receipt-backed planting allocations across devices. Ferndrop is free to use. Clearly labelled sponsor placements help fund the service; all profits after running costs go to tree planting. Tree shares appear only after a funded planting round is reconciled; larger files or ad clicks do not earn extra trees. Files and names are encrypted locally. The decryption key stays in the private sharing link. Recent links and keys are stored locally in this extension, separately from website history. Optional impact sign-in uses an email code and a separate session token. The extension does not read your browsing history or the contents of other tabs. An internet connection and human verification are required to start a transfer. The browser must stay open while uploading. This extension creates stored download links; direct peer-to-peer transfers are available on the Ferndrop website. Recipients need only a browser and the full sharing link.
