Dubly brings live AI dubbing and voice typing directly into your browser. Turn the audio from the tab you’re watching into a translated voice in real time — without leaving the page, uploading files, or switching apps. Dubly also includes Voice Typing, allowing you to speak and turn your voice into text directly on supported websites. Whether you’re watching a video, following a lecture, listening to a podcast, joining a webinar, playing a stream, or simply want to type with your voice, Dubly brings AI-powered language and speech tools directly into Chrome. Dubly currently supports 72 languages for live dubbing and works with your own Google API key, so you stay in control of your setup and API usage. GET STARTED IN A FEW STEPS 1. Install Dubly and open the extension. 2. Add your Google API key from Google AI Studio. 3. Choose the language you want to hear. 4. Open a tab that is playing audio or video. 5. Adjust the original and dubbed audio levels if needed. 6. Press Start translating this tab. Dubly captures audio only from the tab you choose after you start a translation session. The audio required for translation is sent directly to Google for real-time processing using your own API key. For Voice Typing, open the Voice Typing section in Dubly, enable the feature, and grant microphone or optional website access when requested. You can then use the floating Voice Typing control on supported websites to speak and convert your voice into text. When you explicitly start Voice Typing, Dubly accesses your microphone and sends the audio required for speech-to-text processing directly to Google using your own API key. When the floating Voice Typing feature is enabled, Dubly may request optional access to websites so it can display the floating microphone control and insert transcribed text into supported text fields, text areas, and editable elements. Website access for Voice Typing is optional and is requested only when you choose to enable this feature. BUILT AROUND YOUR CONTROL Your Google API key is stored locally in your browser and remains on your device. Dubly does not receive your API key and does not place its own server between your browser and Google during live dubbing or Voice Typing. Your Google API usage, limits, availability, and any related charges are managed by Google through the API key you provide. PRIVACY BY DESIGN Dubly is designed to minimize unnecessary data collection. • Your Google API key stays on your device • Tab audio is accessed only when you explicitly start a dubbing session • Microphone audio is accessed only when you explicitly start Voice Typing • Audio required for dubbing or speech-to-text is sent directly to Google for processing • Microphone audio and transcripts do not pass through Dubly servers • Dubly does not store microphone recordings or transcripts on Dubly servers • Optional website access is requested only when Voice Typing requires it • Website access is used to provide Voice Typing functionality, not to monitor your browsing history • No Dubly account is required to use the extension • Dubly does not sell user data • Preferences and local activity information are stored on your device • Dubly does not keep page titles or full browsing URLs as activity history CONTROL THE SOUND YOUR WAY Dubly lets you balance the original audio and the translated voice independently. Keep both, lower one, or mute either source depending on how you want to watch. EXPERIMENTAL FLOATING CAPTIONS Dubly includes an experimental floating captions feature for users who want translated text alongside dubbed audio. This feature is still evolving and may change in future releases.
