Overview

Plan sprints that fit: see who really has time, how your work lines up with sprints, and what needs fixing — right in Linear.

Linear Assistant adds what Linear's cycle and projects pages don't show: who actually has the time, how initiatives and projects line up with sprints, and quick edits right where you look. ▸ CAPACITY PER PERSON • One bar per person in Linear's cycle view: the work they still carry against the working days they really have left. • Days off come from HiBob or any calendar feed (Google Calendar, Outlook, public holidays) and are taken out automatically. Half days count as half. • Green while the work fits, red once it runs past the days left. • Hover a bar to list every open item, with its initiative › project › parent, status and effort. ▸ INITIATIVE › PROJECT › ISSUE TREE • "Group by initiative" turns the cycle list into a tree: initiative › project › issue › sub-issue, with issue counts and points on every initiative and project. • The same tree on the projects pages, with each project's issues under it. • Each initiative and project shows the sprints its issues are in. • Flags: a red label when a project's dates don't match its sprints, "No end date" when it has none, and an orange triangle when the current sprint has work but nothing in progress. • Pick a person in Linear's Assignees panel and the tree follows; "Show all" on an initiative or project brings everyone's issues back under it. ▸ CHANGE THINGS WITHOUT LEAVING THE TREE • Click an issue's status icon or picture to change its status or assignee. The change shows at once, with Undo. • Select several rows and set status, assignee, priority, cycle, project, estimate, labels or due date for all of them at once. • Right-click any row for Linear's own menu. Shift + click opens the item's page in a side panel. • Dates on your command only: "Set dates from sprints" for a project, "Set target date" for an initiative, and "Remove target date" (with Undo). ▸ FITS HOW YOUR TEAM WORKS (Settings) • Days per story point, what a 0-point issue counts as, unestimated issues, T-shirt sizes. • Which statuses count as "in progress", working days, part-time availability, sprints for teams without cycles, and name aliases for calendars. ▸ PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Your Linear API key stays in your browser's extension storage and is sent only to Linear's own API. • Calendar access is asked for one site at a time, only for the calendars you add. • No servers, no accounts, no analytics, no tracking. ▸ SETUP (2 minutes) 1. Open the extension's Settings. 2. Paste a Linear personal API key (Linear → Settings → Account → Security & access). 3. Optional: paste your HiBob calendar link and any other calendar (ICS) link. 4. Open any cycle in Linear. Not affiliated with Linear or HiBob.
