FeedTamer: Hide YouTube Videos by Subject, Word or Channel

Keeps chosen subjects, words and channels off YouTube: home, search, sidebar, player suggestions and autoplay. Runs in your browser.

FeedTamer keeps the subjects you name off YouTube wherever they appear. One set of rules is checked against the home feed, search results, the sidebar beside the player, the suggestions YouTube shows inside the player, and the video autoplay has queued next. When autoplay is about to start a blocked video, FeedTamer cancels it with YouTube's own Cancel button. A blocked video opened from a link returns you to the YouTube page you came from. Hiding videos by word or by channel, and hiding Shorts, is free and stays free. A subscription adds sixteen ready-made subjects that turn on with one tap, among them politics, gambling, drama and graphic violence, plus Show rules, Restricted mode, recommendation and section switches, video filters, privacy controls and a cloud settings backup. Subject lists match whole words in English, Portuguese and Spanish and never hide help-seeking content such as helplines, so a list cannot block the way out of the subject it filters. Click the FeedTamer icon on the toolbar to open Settings. Settings shows how many videos were hidden today and how many each rule has caught, which makes a rule that never matches easy to spot. FeedTamer adds nothing to YouTube's pages. Filtering runs inside the browser. FeedTamer contacts its own server only for the trial, the license and an optional settings backup you start from Settings. The free trial includes every filtering feature and needs no account or card. The cloud settings backup comes with a paid plan. After the trial, a monthly subscription or an annual one covers the full set; without one, word and channel hiding and Hide Shorts keep working. Cancel before the next renewal; access continues through the paid period. Removing a license in the extension does not cancel the subscription. FeedTamer is one layer in one browser. It does not reach the YouTube apps on phones or TVs, and it can be switched off, so a child's safety belongs with YouTube's supervised accounts. YouTube Premium is not required.
