Overview

Your feed, your freedom. YouTube without the algorithm: subscriptions first, no Shorts, optional UK TV-licence protection.

Your feed, your freedom. Feedom turns YouTube into a calm, intentional place: you see the channels yousubscribed to, and almost nothing you didn't ask for. WHAT IT DOES ■ Subscriptions first: YouTube's home page goes straight to your subscriptions feed. The channels you chose, nothing else. ■ Hide Shorts: removes Shorts from every page: feed, search, channels, and the sidebar. ■ Clean watch page: hides suggested videos, "Up next", end-screen cards, and (optionally) comments. When a video ends, it just ends. ■ Feed clutter filters: Mixes, channel recommendations, topic shelves, Breaking News and Trending shelves, community posts, premieres. ■ Sidebar control: show or hide every YouTube sidebar item individually. ■ Custom CSS: power users can apply their own tweaks. TV LICENCE PROTECTION (UK) - OPTIONAL In the UK, watching TV as it's broadcast needs a TV licence even on YouTube. Feedom can help you play it safe: ■ Block live broadcasts: a stream is blocked only while it's live, with a clear explanation and a "copy link to watch later" shortcut. The recording that appears afterwards plays as normal. ■ Block BBC channels extra caution for BBC content, since BBC programmes on iPlayer need a licence even on demand. Covers major BBC channels (BBC, BBC News, BBC Sport, BBC Earth, BBC Studios, BBC Politics, BBC World Service), and the live-broadcast blocker covers live streams from any other channel. Both options are OFF by default, are fully explained before they block anything, and always include a "watch anyway, just this once" override. Feedom helps you avoid live broadcasts; it does not provide legal advice and cannot guarantee licence compliance; see tvlicensing.co.uk for the official rules. PRIVACY — NOTHING LEAVES YOUR BROWSER ■ No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no external servers. ■ Your preferences are stored by Chrome itself (chrome.storage.sync). ■ Feedom only runs on youtube.com and requests no other access. Every change Feedom makes to YouTube pages is listed above, controlled by its own toggle, and reversible in one click from the popup. Feedom is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC.
