Feedbreak: Hide YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels & Social Media Feeds
Overview
Hide YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and endless feeds. Keep search, messages and subscriptions. Free, private, no account.
Use social media on purpose, not on autopilot. Feedbreak removes the endless scroll from the sites you use every day and keeps the parts you actually came for. Search still works. Messages still work. Your subscriptions, groups and saved posts are still there. What disappears is the bottomless stream of short videos, suggested posts and recommendations that was built to keep you watching. It takes one switch per site, it works the moment you turn it on, and it never asks for access to sites you did not choose. WHAT FEEDBREAK CAN REMOVE YouTube: the Home page grid, the Shorts shelf and Shorts tab, recommended videos next to what you are watching, end-screen suggestions and, if you like, comments. Search results and your Subscriptions page stay. Instagram: the home stream, the Reels tab, the Stories tray, Explore and "Suggested for you" posts. Direct messages, posting and profiles stay. Facebook: News Feed, Reels, Stories, Watch and sponsored posts. Messages, groups, events and marketplace stay. X: the For You timeline, trends and Who to follow. The Following timeline, search and DMs stay. Reddit: the Home and Popular pages and trending searches. Communities you visit on purpose and search stay. More sites are supported; the full list is in the screenshots. WHY PEOPLE PICK FEEDBREAK • It keeps working. Social sites change their page layouts often, and most blockers break quietly when they do. Feedbreak's rules update within hours, with no extension update and nothing for you to do. • It is kind, not strict. Every area it removes carries a small label that explains why. You can show it once, always show it on that page, or peek for 15 seconds. Nothing is locked behind a password or a guilt trip. • It is precise. You choose exactly which parts go. Keep comments but lose recommendations; keep Stories but lose short videos. Three presets (Light, Balanced and Strict) give you a good starting point. • It respects the creators you love. Add channels and accounts to an always-show list and their posts stay visible. • It is reversible. Every settings change offers Undo, and nothing is deleted without asking you first. FREE FOREVER, NO LIMITS The core of Feedbreak is free, with no ads, no trial and no cap on how much you can remove: • One switch per site, plus fine controls for each section • "Why is this hidden?" labels with Show once, Always show and Peek • Always-show lists for creators and channels • Gentle start: lighter settings for your first week so the change feels natural • Snooze for the times you really do want the full site for a while • A health check that tells you when a site has changed and a fix is on the way • A Report button that sends only a structural outline of the page, never text and never what you were looking at • Light and dark themes, keyboard friendly, available in 20 languages FEEDBREAK PRO (COMING SOON) Pro adds habit tools for people who want more than a wall: • Schedules: different settings for work hours, study time and evenings, switching on their own • Daily time budgets: for example ten minutes of short videos a day, then the section quietly closes until midnight • Focus profiles, including a creator mode for people who post for work • A lock that adds a pause before you can turn protection off, for the moments when willpower runs low • An intention check that asks what you came to do before a site opens • Intent mode that shows only what you searched for • Save for later, with a weekly digest, so interesting links do not pull you in right now • Insights: the time you got back, the hours you are most tempted, and your streak • Sync across your devices Everything listed under Free stays free. Early supporters: the first 500 accounts get Pro free for life. PRIVACY, IN PLAIN WORDS Feedbreak changes how pages look on your own device. It does not watch what you do. • No account needed. Your settings live in your browser. • Never collected: page text, URLs, video titles, account names, messages or browsing history. • Anonymous usage counts are optional and stay off until you say yes. • Site access is requested one site at a time, only for the sites you pick. Feedbreak never asks for access to all websites. • Site rules are signed data files, not code, so an update can never run anything new in your browser. • Saved items exist only if you save them, and they sync only if you turn sync on. Privacy policy: https://feedbreak.pointerapps.net/privacy WHO IT IS FOR Students who open a tab to look something up and lose an hour. Remote workers who need a research tool, not a slot machine. Parents setting up a calmer family computer. Creators who need the platform but not the pull. Anyone who wants to stop doomscrolling without deleting their accounts. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Does it block the whole site? No. Only the parts designed to keep you scrolling. Search, messages, subscriptions and posting keep working. Can I still watch a video someone sends me? Yes. Direct links open normally. The suggestions around that video can be removed if you want. What happens when a site changes its design? We publish updated rules, usually within hours. Your extension picks them up on its own. Will it slow down my browser? No. Feedbreak works mostly with lightweight style rules applied as the page loads, so the stream never flashes on screen first. Do I need an account? No. An account is only needed for Pro features such as sync. Can I turn it off for a while? Yes. Snooze it from the toolbar popup, or use Show once on any removed section.
