Base64 Buddy
Overview
Auto-detects and decodes Base64 text on any page, and lets you encode selected text back to Base64.
Base64 Buddy quietly scans the pages you visit and turns Base64-encoded text into readable text right on the page — no copy-pasting into a separate decoder tool. This is especially handy on forums and chat sites where people sometimes post messages Base64-encoded (to keep them out of search results, or just for fun). Base64 Buddy decodes them automatically and highlights the result; click a highlighted piece of text to flip back to the original encoded version. FEATURES • Automatic detection and decoding of Base64 text as you browse • Handles dynamically loaded content (infinite scroll, AJAX-loaded replies) • Right-click a text selection to "Encode selection to Base64" or "Decode selection from Base64" — replaces the selection in place inside reply boxes and text fields, or copies the result to your clipboard elsewhere • A toolbar popup with a manual two-way Base64 ⇄ text converter • A toggle to turn auto-decode on or off at any time • Conservative detection: only decodes text that is valid Base64 AND decodes to genuine, mostly-printable UTF-8 text, so IDs, hashes, and other random-looking strings are left alone PRIVACY Base64 Buddy does everything locally in your browser. It does not collect, store, or transmit any browsing data, page content, or selected text.
