Overview

Starts every YouTube video at your preferred playback speed.

Set your preferred YouTube playback speed once, and every video starts at that speed. YouTube resets or forgets your speed more often than it should. This extension fixes that: pick a default speed and each new video starts there automatically, with no menu to open. FEATURES • Choose any default speed from 0.25× to 4×, with a slider or one-click presets • Changes in the popup apply instantly to the video you're watching • Change the speed by hand on any video and it stays that way for that video; the next one returns to your default • Works with embedded YouTube players on other websites • Ads play at normal speed, and YouTube Music is left alone • Your setting syncs across your Chrome browsers • One-click on/off switch GOOD TO KNOW • Speeds above 2× play correctly, but YouTube's own speed menu may not display them, because its player doesn't offer those speeds. • After installing, reload any YouTube tabs that were already open. PRIVACY This extension collects no data and makes no network requests. The only thing it stores is your chosen speed and the on/off setting, saved in Chrome's own extension storage. This extension is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
