Overview
Tailor your resume to the job posting you're reading, then attach it to the application without leaving the page.
ResumeSmithy puts a tailored resume one click away from the job posting you're reading. You keep one library of your experience on ResumeSmithy. Every job, project, and bullet you've ever written, in one place. When you find a posting worth applying to, the extension reads it off the page, picks the parts of your library that fit, and turns them into a finished PDF in your own formatting. No copying the posting into another tab. No hunting for the right version of your resume. WHAT IT DOES Tailors from the page you're on Open a posting on LinkedIn, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, or a company's own careers site, click the ResumeSmithy icon, and a resume written for that role is ready in under a minute. The posting is filed in your account alongside the resume, so you always know which version went where. Attaches the resume for you When an application form has a resume upload field, a small ResumeSmithy button appears next to it. One click builds the resume if this tab doesn't have one yet, renders it, and drops it into the upload field. It works inside embedded forms and pop-up application windows, which is where most applications actually happen. Fills in the questions you've answered before Work authorization, salary expectations, "how did you hear about us," why you want the job. You've typed these a hundred times. The extension remembers your answers and offers the right one on each field as a dropdown. Nothing is typed into a form unless you choose it. Drafts the message that goes with it Need a cover letter, a reply to a recruiter, a cold note to a hiring manager, or a follow-up after an interview? Switch the popup to Draft, and it writes a first pass from your library and the posting. Anything it doesn't know is left as a clear blank for you to fill, never guessed. Keeps everything in your account Every resume you tailor from the extension shows up in your ResumeSmithy history, exactly as if you'd built it on the site. Open the site later to adjust bullets, change templates, or download it again. WHY INSTALL IT Applying well takes time, and most of that time goes to the same chores: rereading the posting, rewriting the same bullets, re-answering the same questions. ResumeSmithy does those chores so you can spend your attention on the applications that matter and send more of them. Your resume stays yours. It's built only from experience you wrote and keep in your library, and you review the PDF before anything is sent. GETTING STARTED 1. Create a ResumeSmithy account at resumesmithy.com and add your experience, or upload an existing resume to start from. 2. Install the extension and sign in from the popup. 3. Open any job posting and click the icon. A walkthrough lives at resumesmithy.com/extension.
