Typewell — Font Changer

Make the web your type. Preview offline fonts, fine-tune readability, and remember a different look for every website.

Make websites more comfortable to read. Typewell lets you preview fonts directly on a page, adjust text size and spacing, and remember your choices for the next visit. FIND YOUR TYPE • Choose from 147 bundled fonts and 12 system-font options, or use a font installed on your computer. • Search by name, browse categories, and save your favorites. • Preview fonts on the current website before applying them. • Closing the popup restores your saved choice. PERSONALIZE EACH WEBSITE • Save a different font and spacing profile for each website, or choose a default for all websites. • Adjust text size from 75% to 175%, line height, letter spacing, and word spacing. • Limit changes to reading content and preserve code fonts. • Restore original fonts, exclude individual websites, or pause Typewell everywhere. • Manage website rules and export or import your preferences as a local JSON file. • Choose a light, dark, or system interface theme. FONTS AND SETTINGS STAY LOCAL Bundled fonts are included with the extension, so browsing does not require font-service or CDN requests. Typewell has no accounts, analytics, advertisements, telemetry, or remote code. Typewell examines page elements, text, and styles locally to apply your chosen typography and preserve common icons. It uses the current website address to select the right profile. Saved website hostnames, font choices, favorites, and other preferences remain in this browser profile. Page text is not saved in your preferences, and Typewell does not send it or your settings to a server. WEBSITE ACCESS Access to HTTP and HTTPS websites allows Typewell to apply saved choices automatically on future visits, style newly loaded content, and handle permitted embedded frames. The activeTab and scripting permissions support live previews and applying or removing styles. The storage permission saves preferences locally. COMPATIBILITY For desktop Chrome and compatible Chromium browsers, including Brave. Incognito and private windows are not supported. Browser-protected pages, the Chrome Web Store, and some built-in viewers cannot be changed. Bundled fonts cover Latin text in regular weight; your browser may synthesize bold and italic. Other scripts and missing characters use fallback fonts. System and custom fonts must be installed locally. Some website layouts or unusual icons may work best with their original fonts. Canvas text and closed shadow roots cannot be changed.
