Overview
Search your favourites and copy the link to the clipboard without opening the page.
You’re writing an email, a web page or a social media post, and you want to add a link to a page you KNOW is in your favorites (bookmarks). Click the Fave2Clipboard icon on your browser toolbar, or press Alt+Shift+L, and a search page opens in its own tab. Start typing part of the page name, the URL or the folder it’s in, and everything irrelevant drops out of the list. Press Enter and the top result’s URL is copied to the clipboard. Or left click the one you want with the mouse or use the ↑/↓ arrow keys to pick a different one. Then paste it straight into your email, article or post. It’s like the “Everything” file-search tool for Windows, but it searches your favorites instead of your files. I couldn’t find anything that did this. Before, I had to open a tab, start typing the URL, click on it, open the page and copy the URL from the address bar. Or I had to open Favorites, click Search, find it, right-click and copy. Now I just start typing what I want. PRIVACY: Fave2Clipboard doesn’t go on the internet and doesn’t collect or share any of your data. It uses the browser’s own bookmarks feature to read your favorites, on your computer only. Works in Chrome and Microsoft Edge. __________________________________ GETTING STARTED After installing, click the puzzle-piece icon at the top right of your browser and click the pin next to Fave2Clipboard so its icon stays on your toolbar. (In Edge, click the eye icon next to it, labelled “Show in toolbar”.) Edge users: when you first open the Chrome Web Store, click “Allow extensions from other stores” at the top of the page, then “Add to Chrome”. Tip: right-click the search page’s tab and choose “Pin tab” to keep it ready. Alt+Shift+L always takes you back to it. To change the shortcut, go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts (or edge://extensions/shortcuts). A storerboatplans.com project
