FastNote
Overview
The fastest sidebar note app for Chrome.
FastNote is a lightning-fast sidebar note app built directly into Chrome. Open it with one click, capture thoughts, tag and organize your notes, and never worry about losing text again — every keystroke is saved automatically. ────────────────────────── CORE FEATURES ────────────────────────── ⚡ Instant autosave Every word you type is saved the moment you type it. No save button. No lost notes. FastNote writes to local Chrome storage on every keystroke. 📄 Notes by page, site, or everywhere Attach notes to a specific URL (great for research), a whole domain (perfect for recurring work on a client site), or keep them global across all your browsing. 🔖 Tags and tag filtering Add multiple tags to any note. Filter your entire note collection by tag with one tap. When typing a new tag, FastNote suggests existing tags from your library — so your system stays consistent. ✂️ Right-click to capture Select any text on any website, right-click, and choose "Save to FastNote." The text opens instantly in a new note with the source URL attached — perfect for research, quotes, and references. 🌙 Dark mode by default FastNote opens in a clean dark interface out of the box. Toggle light mode anytime with the sun/moon button at the top. 📌 Pin important notes Pin any note to keep it at the top of your list. Pinned notes get a yellow accent border so they're impossible to miss. 🗂 Two-column grid view Notes display in a clean 2-column grid with faded text previews — so you can scan at a glance without opening each one. 🗑 Trash and recovery Deleted notes go to Recently Deleted first. Restore them at any time, or permanently delete when you're sure. 📦 Export and import Export all your notes as JSON (full backup), Markdown, or plain text — any time, with one click. Import JSON backups back into FastNote. Your data is always yours. ────────────────────────── PRIVACY FIRST ────────────────────────── FastNote stores everything locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage API. No account. No sync server. No data ever leaves your device.
