Family Chromebook Check-In
Overview
Sends a periodic check-in so a parent can tell the device is online, and keeps it awake during school hours.
Family Chromebook Check-In helps a parent know whether a supervised Chromebook is still online and running. What it does Sends one small check-in every few minutes, and when the device wakes up. On weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm Central time, asks the device not to sleep from inactivity. The screen can still dim or turn off. This keeps quiet activities, such as reading, from looking like a stopped device. If check-ins stop arriving, the parent's monitoring service sends an alert. What it does not do It does not read browsing history, page content, keystrokes, or the screen. It does not collect the Google account signed in on the device. It does not sell or share information. This extension is built for one family's supervised Chromebook. Its check-ins go to a fixed monitoring address set by the developer. It is meant to be installed by a parent or guardian, not hidden from the person using the device.
