XSpace - Add Cards
Overview
Organize web pages and selected text as XSpace cards. Requires the XSpace desktop app for Windows.
Keep useful information within reach, without searching for it again. XSpace sends web pages and text you find in Chrome to the XSpace desktop app for Windows, where you can organize them as cards. Start from the right-click menu or toolbar, then review the content and destination in XSpace before adding it. What you can do - Add the current web page, selected text, links, and image references as cards. - Register references to Gmail messages and Google Drive files and folders. - Find and highlight saved positions on supported web pages and emails. - Return to the original content from a saved card. Required desktop app and supported environment The XSpace desktop app must be installed on the same PC. This extension cannot save cards on its own. Download the compatible XSpace app: https://xspace-pro.com/downloads/XSpace-Setup-1.0.0-chrome-review-win11-x64.exe The currently distributed app supports Intel/AMD x64 PCs running Windows 11 24H2 (OS build 26100) or later. Use this extension with Google Chrome for Windows. How to use 1. Install the XSpace desktop app and this extension. 2. On the first app launch, set a four-digit recovery password and open the destination Space. Read the extension's data handling notice and give your consent. 3. Open a page in Chrome and click the XSpace toolbar button. To add text, select it, right-click, and choose "Add selected text to XSpace". 4. Review the content and destination in the XSpace confirmation window, then add the card. 5. Open the original content from the card. Languages and limitations Menus and notices follow Chrome's display language: Japanese, Korean, or English. Other display languages use English. Basic card registration does not require signing in to XSpace. Private pages and emails require sign-in and access permissions for the original service. Changes to a website's layout or original content, and its loading state, may prevent the saved position from being found. The extension cannot run on restricted pages such as internal Chrome pages. Data handling Before first use, the extension explains the information and purposes for web pages, selected text, webmail, Google Drive, chat, and PDF references. It does not begin reading content or sending it to XSpace until you explicitly consent. Consent status, notice version, and consent time are saved in Chrome extension local storage. Card content is not saved there. Depending on your registration action, the extension reads URLs, titles, selected text and short surrounding context, supported email subjects/senders/dates, and cloud item names or identifiers, then sends them to XSpace on the same PC. For ordinary web text registration, it may read up to 160 characters before and after the selection to distinguish the original position and save that context in a return URL. Text imported into a note is the selected text. Supported services may temporarily store return identifiers in the site's sessionStorage; these may remain after a failure or session restoration. In XSpace versions that support storage protection, after setting the recovery password, cards, notes, and new autosave/recovery files are encrypted locally using AES-256-GCM. Existing plaintext backups, explicitly exported Markdown, photos/thumbnails, file names, and browser history/temporary information are excluded. Recovery on another PC requires the full data set, the .key file, and the recovery password. Older versions without this protection do not encrypt these files. Files in a user-selected sync folder may be synchronized by that service. The extension does not bulk-sync emails or documents. When returning to original content, the extension searches displayed text or elements locally, moves to the saved position, and highlights it. The extension does not send registered information to the developer's server. Opening a reference connects the browser to the original website. The desktop app's account authentication and update checks are separate communication functions.
