FairPage
Overview
Detect and block dark patterns on any website
FairPage scans every website you visit and highlights manipulative design tricks known as "dark patterns" — deceptive UI techniques that pressure you into unintended decisions. 🔍 WHAT IT DETECTS (13 pattern types): • Fake Urgency — countdown timers that reset, "act now!" pressure • Fake Scarcity — "only 2 left!" warnings, inflated viewer counts • Price Anchoring — inflated original prices, unrealistic "80% off" claims • Confirm Shaming — guilt-trip language on decline buttons ("No, I hate saving money") • Cookie Consent Manipulation — hidden reject buttons, oversized "Accept" buttons • Hidden Costs — surprise fees that appear only at checkout • Pre-selected Options — checkboxes checked without your consent (newsletters, insurance) • Forced Continuity — free trials that silently auto-renew with your credit card • Social Proof Pressure — fake "John from Texas just bought this" notifications • Visual Misdirection — tiny unsubscribe links, color tricks on buttons • Fake Buttons — disguised ads, deceptive close buttons • Exit-Intent Nagging — "Wait! Don't go!" popups, back button hijacking • Deceptive Ads — links camouflaged as content 📊 FEATURES: • Trust Score (0-100) for every website • Highlight mode — outlines detected patterns with color-coded borders • Block mode — blurs manipulative elements so you can't interact with them • Click any pattern in the popup to scroll directly to it on the page • Dashboard with scan history, statistics, and worst-sites ranking • Export reports as JSON, CSV, or HTML • Adjustable sensitivity (low / medium / high) • Domain whitelist • 5 languages: English, Українська, Deutsch, Français, Español 🔒 PRIVACY: All analysis runs locally in your browser. No data is sent to any server. No account required. No tracking. ⚠️ WHAT FAIRPAGE IS NOT: • Not an ad blocker — does not block or hide advertisements • Not a tracker blocker — does not block cookies or tracking scripts • Not an antivirus — does not scan for malware • Not a VPN — does not anonymize your browsing FairPage focuses on one thing: helping you see when a website is trying to manipulate your decisions.
