WHAT IT DOES ▸ Open recall flag Every listing is checked against the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's recall database. If there are open safety recalls reported for the vehicle's year, make, and model, you'll see a clear red badge with severity, summary, and remedy details before you walk onto a lot. ▸ True out-the-door price The listed price never tells the whole story. FairLane adds estimated state-specific dealer documentation fees, sales tax, and registration so you see what you'll really pay. We also surface common dealer add-ons (VIN etching, paint protection, GAP insurance) and tell you which ones to decline. ▸ 5-year total cost Insurance, maintenance, fuel, and depreciation projected for the exact car you're looking at, in your state, with your mileage.
