Overview
Blocks the trackers that shape the price you see, and shows what the same game or app costs in other regions.
Some stores show different people different prices. Fair Price Shield helps you see what is going on and pay less. What it does - Blocks pricing and behaviour trackers. This is the default ("Block only"): your browser tells the truth about itself and sites work normally. It also sends the Global Privacy Control signal. - Shows regional prices. On a Steam game page or an App Store app page, the popup lists the price in up to 18 regions, converted to your currency, and points out the cheapest. - Checks for dynamic pricing. "Check this page for dynamic pricing" compares the price you see with the price a fresh, cookie-free background tab sees. Your real session is not changed. Optional modes (off unless you turn them on in Settings) - Skew: presents one consistent budget-shopper browser profile (device class, screen, memory, connection) and, if you choose one, a referring site. - Maximum skew: everything in Skew, plus per-visit fingerprint rotation, a neutral time zone and locale, coarsened interaction timing and re-rolling of price-experiment cookies. Expect the occasional bot check in this mode. What it never does - It never touches login, cart, checkout or payment pages, and it leaves banks, government sites and work sign-in pages alone. - It does not buy anything for you, and it cannot guarantee that a store will sell to you at another region's price. - Most mainstream US stores show everyone the same price. When that is the case, the extension says so. Privacy: no account, no name or email. An anonymous install count (which you can turn off in Settings) and anonymous crowd price reports only.
