MarkSweep – Bookmark Cleaner for Duplicates & Broken Links
Overview
Clean up Chrome bookmarks: find duplicates, broken or dead links, and ones you never open — then bulk-delete the clutter.
MarkSweep helps you clean up years of Chrome bookmark clutter in minutes. It opens a single dashboard that scans your bookmarks and browsing history — entirely on your device — and sorts every problem bookmark into clear tabs so you can review and bulk-delete what you no longer need. WHAT MARKSWEEP FINDS • Unused bookmarks — see what you haven't opened in 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, or ever, based on your own Chrome history. • Broken links — every bookmark is checked and dead links are flagged in plain language: page not found, server error, or unreachable. • Duplicates — bookmarks saved more than once are grouped together so you can keep one copy and remove the rest. • Empty folders — leftover folders with no bookmarks inside are listed for one-click cleanup. • Usage at a glance — a sortable table shows every bookmark with its folder, visit count, and last-visited date. HOW IT WORKS Click the MarkSweep toolbar icon to open the dashboard. It reads your bookmarks and history, checks each link, and groups everything into tabs. Select what you no longer need and delete it in bulk — no more digging through folders one by one. PRIVACY FIRST MarkSweep runs entirely in your browser. It reads your bookmarks and history only to analyze them on your device, stores its results in local browser storage, and never sends your data to any server.
